PISAQ Campaign 6: Milk quality and mammary gland health in small dairy ruminants

The objective of the program is to assess milk quality and mammary gland health in small dairy ruminants. Goals of the campaign: - Improve the knowledge of all stakeholders, in particular breeders and practicing veterinarians, on the mammary health of sheep and dairy goats and on the quality of the milk they produce. - Highlight the practices deemed to be at risk and promote the adoption of good milking practices in herds of small dairy ruminants. - Improve support for producers struggling with tank milk analyzes that do not comply with regulations (control of bacterial counts and somatic cell counts). - Orient research priorities and collective actions related to mammary health and milk quality in small dairy ruminant herds.
