Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the virus that causes COVID-19, is zoonotic in origin, but the pandemic has been driven by human to human transmission. Many animal species are susceptible to infection with SARS-CoV-2 and must be considered in the course of the pandemic.
