West Nile Virus has been confirmed in Chaudière-Appalaches (MRC de Montmagny), Quebec. On September 12, 2024, a 4 year old Quarter Horse gelding presented with fever, muzzle twitching, head turn to the right, hypermetria of the front limbs, and paralysis of the lower lip. West Nile Virus was confirmed on September 26, 2024. The horse is recovering. The horse was not vaccinated against West Nile Virus. There is one additional suspected case.
