West Nile Virus in Ontario, September 27, 2024

Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness (OMAFA)

West Nile Virus has been confirmed in the District of Thunder Bay, Ontario. A 4 year old Arabian gelding was noted to be stumbling with a low grade fever. West Nile Virus was confirmed on September 27, 2024. The horse is recovering. The horse was not vaccinated against West Nile Virus. This is the 6th equine case of West Nile Virus in Ontario this year.
