Strangles (Streptococcus equi) has been confirmed in Haldimand County, Ontario. A 20 year old Warmblood gelding developed clinical signs of Strangles (fever, nasal discharge) a few weeks after a new horse arrived to the farm. The horse with symptoms tested positive for S. equi. There is one additional suspected case and 15 horses were exposed.
