Strangles (Streptococcus equi) has been confirmed in the District of Parry Sound, Ontario. A 16 year old Quarter Horse gelding presented with lethargy, anorexia, abnormal respiratory sounds. Strangles was confirmed on December 9, 2024. The horse is recovering. 5 additional horses were exposed.
