The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) monthly summary of rabies
cases for September 2024 has confirmed 22 cases of rabies. This includes 21 cases of rabies in bats (1 from British Columbia, 3 from Alberta, 2 from Saskatchewan, 1 from Manitoba, 13 from Ontario, and 1 from New Brunswick). There was also 1 human case of rabies from Ontario.
