The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) monthly summary of rabies
cases for August 2024 has confirmed 39 cases of rabies. This includes 38 cases of rabies in bats (5 from British Columbia, 2 from Alberta, 4 from Saskatchewan, 26 from Ontario, and 1 from Quebec) and 1 case of rabies in a skunk from Manitoba.
