Salmonellosis has been confirmed in Montréal-Nord, Quebec. A Quarter Horse suckling foal filly developed clinical signs on June 17, 2024 - Past 3 weeks: a decline in energy, intermittent cough, and weight loss. Past week: worsening of the general condition, less appetite. Past 2 days, profuse diarrhea. A fecal sample was positive for Salmonella group B on July 10, 2024. The horse is deceased.
