Potomac Horse Fever in Alberta, October 8, 2026
A case of Potomac Horse Fever has been confirmed at a private facility in Rocky View County, Alberta. The 4 year old gelding developed clinical symptoms on September 30, which included inappetence, dullness and diarrhea. The horse tested PCR positive for Neorickettsia findlayensis and has recovered. The horse was not vaccinated.
