The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has confirmed highly pathogenic avian influenza in Shelburne County, Nova Scotia, in non-commercial poultry.

The CFIA has advised the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) of the confirmed presence of HPAI in Canada. This serves as a strong reminder that  HPAI is spreading across the globe, and that anyone with birds must practice enhanced biosecurity procedures.
