Equine influenza has been confirmed in Mauricie, Quebec. On April 4, 2024, an 8 year old mare presented with fever. Infection with equine influenza was confirmed by PCR on April 16, 2024. The horse was not vaccinated. A second horse also presented with fever and is a suspected case. Both horses are affected and alive. Both horses developed clinical signs after being purchased together. Voluntary quarantine measures are in place.
