Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) has been confirmed in Mauricie (MRC de Maskinongé), Quebec. On September 30, 2024, a 21 year old Quarter Horse mare presented with fever, altered mental state, circling, and ataxia. The horse was euthanized. EEE was confirmed on October 25, 2024. The horse was not vaccinated against EEE.
