Avian metapneumovirus in Manitoba, June 2024

Government of Manitoba
Share:

Six cases of avian metapneumovirus (aMPV) Type A have been confirmed in Manitoba. The affected flocks are four turkey grower flocks and two broiler breeder flocks.

At this time, the province of Manitoba is providing support in sampling and testing of suspect flocks and coordinating reporting with the provincial poultry boards and attending veterinarians. Producers have been advised to increase biosecurity, especially if in close proximity to a positive case.
